From July 2018 – December 2019, Flagstaff offered numerous free events and activities commemorating the 50-year anniversary of humanity’s first foot steps on the Moon and Flagstaff’s role in preparing the Apollo astronauts. The Lunar Legacy Lecture Series, sponsored by the Flagstaff Festival of Science and hosted by the Coconino Community College Lone Tree Campus, featured lunar-themed presentations by scientists, engineers, historians, and astronauts.
