MEDIA PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
DESCRIPTION
The Flagstaff Festival of Science is seeking a part-time Media Production Coordinator (averaging 10 hours per week) to support the Festival’s programming, marketing, and fundraising goals by producing engaging, high-quality audiovisual content, including ad spots, coverage of Festival events, and other digital marketing communications as needed.
The successful candidate for this position will have proven expertise in using audio/video equipment, editing software, and related tools; proven creative talent in using audiovisual media to tell appealing, audience-appropriate stories; as well as proven hands-on experience delivering audiovisual content via a wide range of digital media platforms, including websites, social media, radio/TV broadcasting, and custom applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Festival Director and the Publicity Committee, contributing to their efforts to:
- Establish marketing goals for the upcoming Festival as well as overall marketing strategy
- Determine how best to creatively meet goals with available resources and within budgetary constraints
- Schedule, develop, and execute major marketing and fundraising campaigns across a wide range of platforms and media (paid, earned, social, and owned media)
- Collaborate with the Festival Director, the Publicity Committee, and contractors to develop audiovisual content for appropriate channels:
- Deliver professional-quality audiovisual content to promote the Festival and raise funding for the Festival through ad spots, interviews, testimonials, stories, and other commonly used forms of marketing communications
- Distribute and manage audiovisual content in appropriate formats across a wide range of digital platforms, including the Festival website, custom app, social media accounts, and radio/TV
- Using appropriate metrics, monitor and measure digital traffic and provide reports to the Director and Publicity Committee
- Perform and coordinate filming and live-streaming of Festival events; manage schedule for additional camera operators as required
- Edit recorded content for distribution across channels
- Actively manage and distribute content on the Festival’s YouTube channel and other audiovisual channels; develop new channels based on experience
- Work with the Education Committee to develop audiovisual content for the Festival’s educational outreach programs
REQUIREMENTS
- Intimate knowledge of, and experience with, AV equipment and editing software
- Excellent visual communication skills; strong verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative; works well with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Experience working closely with web designers, graphic designers, and writers; experience working within a nonprofit organization
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
- Well organized and highly analytical
- Ability to work independently; self-directed in a remote work setting
- Resourceful; willing to research and learn new skills as required
- An established network with other technical professionals is a plus
Pay: $24- $28/ hour, commiserate with experience
